After living here for 2 decades Colorado is very much home! I particularly enjoy the lifestyle here with easy access to all sorts of outdoor activities, the beauty of the mountains, our professional sports teams, and the high quality museums, theaters and restaurants.
Various outdoor sports, the arts, and my kiddos keep me plenty busy!
I’ve always had a strong interest in women’s issues. During medical school I found my female patients to have a strong commitment to preserving their own good health and a curiosity in understanding all their health care options. I’m a surgeon at heart, but in most surgical fields you have a very brief relationship with patients. In OB/GYN I’ve generated life-long friendships with patients, seeing them through all stages of life for a broad variety of medical conditions. I love that year after year I get to visit with people, and they often bring me their daughters, mothers and closest friends to care for. It’s the greatest honor to assist people through some of their most memorable and important life events.
Over the years I have developed a specialized interest and skill set in managing some of the most challenging gynecologic medical and surgical issues. Almost daily I get feedback and thanks from patients who feel I’ve improved their quality of life – I find that to be the most rewarding aspect of my job, to know that by showing up I’ve made a difference in someone’s life.
It is my duty to educate patients about what is going on with them, and to provide them with every reasonable option for treatment. Ultimately, which treatment you pursue is your choice as a patient – and if you feel confident about that decision, chances are you’re going to get a better result.
