What makes Colorado home to you?
I am a Colorado native and grew up in the Colorado outdoors, I love to get out and hike in the mountains when I can.
What are your passions outside of work?
I am passionate about improving healthcare for patients and providers. The development of health policy is so critical to taking care of patients and I love helping speak up for my patient’s needs when given the opportunity. I love working with other passionate colleagues from all specialties to fix our healthcare system. I also love getting outdoors and being active. Hiking, rafting, snowboarding and just enjoying the Rocky Mountains! I am an avid collector of old medical books and especially collectibles around women in medicine.
Why did you become an OB/GYN?
I love working with women over their entire lives, from adolescence to the golden years. Being able to be a part of life events and a guide through tough times is truly an honor.
What in your career are you most proud?
I have been honored to serve my colleagues and my patients through multiple leadership positions in both the American Medical Association and the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists. We have fought for important changes in laws to protect patients, residents, and providers. I am honored to work with amazing colleagues that trust me to help lead these efforts.
What is the most important part of your job?
Empowering women to take care of their health and understand their bodies. Educating patients so they can understand their health.
