Throughout your pregnancy, our doctors will use 2D ultrasound to monitor your baby’s development and determine the sex of the baby. While this allows us to capture the clinical information we need to monitor your baby’s health and organ development, it is often harder for expectant parents to visualize what their baby may look like.
We offer 3D and 4D ultrasound for interested parents who want a three-dimensional view of their baby’s features. These images are typically captured between 26 and 32 weeks. Because they are not used for diagnostic purposes, your insurance may not cover the cost. But we have found that many families enjoy having 3D or 4D images and/or video as a keepsake item from their pregnancy.
If you're interested in 3D and 4D ultrasound options, do not hesitate to contact our office or speak with your doctor during your next appointment.
