Menopausal Lifecycle Care

Menopause is a natural part of aging that most women will experience at some point in life. Menopause starts when a woman has gone 12 months without a menstrual period, absent of any other reproductive health conditions. Throughout each stage of the menopause lifecycle, different types and levels of care may be needed. We are here to support you through the process.

Natural Treatments for Menopause

Some women prefer to take a more natural approach to treating menopause. Our providers will explore holistic options for treatment in place of hormone replacement therapy. There are numerous natural options that may help alleviate symptoms, including herbs, vitamins, and dietary supplements.

What are the stages of menopause?

There are three stages of menopause, each one with their own symptoms and characteristics.

  • Perimenopause
  • Menopause
  • Postmenopause

The perimenopause stage begins up to 10 years prior to the cessation of a menstrual cycle. Here, estrogen in the body will decrease and you may start to experience symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, vaginal dryness, and emotional changes.

During menopause, your body is transitioning from having a monthly cycle. During the year in which menopause begins, eggs will no longer be released from your ovaries.

The postmenopause stage comes after you have gone through a 12 month period without a menstrual cycle. Once this occurs, you are considered "postmenopausal". This stage will consist of you experiencing the typical symptoms associated with menopause.

Treatments to Help with Menopause Symptoms

Hormone Therapy
Estrogen therapy and estrogen progesterone/progestin hormone therapy can help make menopause symptoms less intense.
Lifestyle Changes
Staying active, maintaining a healthy diet, and getting mental health support can help you manage menopause symptoms.
None at All
Some women choose to not treat their menopause symptoms an age naturally. As long as you are monitoring your overall health, this is a great choice for many women.
