Well Woman Care Services

Annual Exams

Annual wellness exams involve reviewing any pertinent health conditions, managing your medications, and undergoing a physical exam. At Mile High, we encourage all our patients to schedule their yearly exam as a form of preventative care. This helps to detect any problems early, alleviating the stress of catching them too late.

Contraception Options

Contraception is an important part of your preventative care routine. Whether you are looking to start using contraception for the first time or if you want to switch to a new method, Mile High is here to support and help you make the right decision. We offer contraception education, birth control management, and can administer birth control shots.

Mood Management

Mental health has a significant impact on your physical health, so it’s important to take care of both at the same time. Childbirth, menopause, and your menstrual cycle can cause you to have changes in your mood. Because of this, we offer mood management and mental health services for women of all ages alongside our other types of care.

Sexual Pain or Dysfunction

Sexual pain and dysfunction is not a normal part of reproductive health. If you are experiencing any sort of discomfort, schedule a visit with us today. Our providers can help find the reason you are having pain and create a treatment plan to help remedy it.

STI Testing and Care

Sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing and care should be a part of your regular healthcare routine. Like many other health conditions, it is best to catch them as early as possible to avoid them becoming more severe. We offer testing for all STIs that can be easily completed anytime.

How We Investigate Sexual Discomfort / Pain

When you see a women’s health provider for sexual pain or discomfort, they will do a thorough analysis of your reproductive health. Your doctor will also do a physical exam that can include a pelvic, rectal, and Pap smear test. Having bloodwork or a transvaginal ultrasound can also give you a better idea of what is contributing to pain during intercourse.

The providers at Mile High can help you find a proper treatment for the discomfort you’re experiencing, but being prepared can help speed up the investigative process. Make sure you are noting where the pain is located in your body, how often it happens, the severity of it, how long you have been experiencing it, and any remedies you have tried to fix it.

How We Treat Sexual Discomfort + Pain

Treating sexual pain and discomfort can be handled in a number of different ways. Learn more about some of your options here.

  • Lubrication
Water-based lubricants can help reduce immediate pain during intercourse and is often the first treatment method you should try.
  • Medication
Medications that help enhance hormones, reduce inflammation, or treat an infection may be prescribed by your doctor for painful intercourse.
  • Sexual Therapy
If there is no medical reason why you are experiencing pain, psychotherapy may be able to help reduce anxiety about intercourse.
